ANNUAL BOOT DRIVE FOR THE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY ASSOCIATION

Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue held their annual “Fill The Boot” drive to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association during the month of September. Â Captain Steve LaPlante, organizer of this drive, was happy to report that CHFR raised over $7600.00! Â Thank you to those firefighters who volunteered and to those who gave so generously to make this drive a success!

Â Alex Lobeto and Gene Brown were in fire school togetherÂ andÂ alsoÂ beganÂ their fire careers together at Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue. SoÂ when they both decided toÂ retire, it was only fitting that they would standÂ side by side and be honoredÂ atÂ theirÂ retirement flag ceremony. Â On AugustÂ 30, 2016, Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue was proud to recognizeÂ these two outstanding firefighters for their 30 years of dedicated service. Â Thank you Division Chief Lobeto and Battalion Chief Brown for all you have done for Manatee County!
